If you’re sick of singing “Wannabe” alone in front of the mirror with a hairbrush microphone, if you want to share your beautiful voice with the world but don’t want to audition for American Idol, or if you just plain want to get drunk and belt out Mariah Carey at the top of your lungs, sign up for the summer session of the National Karaoke League.

The NKL, founded last year by Whitney Francis and Chris Larkin, is a league for competitive team karaoke singers. They “strive to let [their] members have fun and meet new people over the silliest ‘sport’ in the world – competitive karaoke.” How is karaoke competitive? The patrons at the host bars vote for their favorite teams, and at the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the National Karaoke Champions. Another bonus – each NKL division partners with a local music-related non-profit.

Registration for the summer session closes tomorrow, so grab a team and sign up here.
