Psycho Beach Party

courtesy Alamo Drafthouse

This is the second Hey Homo! event the Drafthouse has done, and this time the movie is Psycho Beach Party, starring Six Feet Under’s Lauren Ambrose. From the Drafthouse:

This film is a perfect mix of 1960s surfer movies and 1980s slasher flicks, so dress accordingly or be called out by MC Rebecca Havemeyer! Now we can’t bring you a beach, but expect an Air Surfing Competition, Hawaiian Leis, special drinks, performances and a zillion awesome queer folk!

Kidnapped by Craigslist

Craigslist has provided us endless entertainment over the last few years, and we don’t really know what we’d do if we couldn’t read the Missed Connections or put up our junk for sale (and subsequently have a million people flake the fuck out and never show up to buy our vintage ceramic cat garden sculpture and matching queen headboard). Oh, Craigslist. Anyway, Kidnapped by Craigslist is a comedy that “delves deep into the online phenomenon that is Craigslist.” More from the promoter:

Want to buy a couch? Find a date? Complain about your roommate? Your boss? Your sketchy neighbor that sleeps in his doghouse? Kidnapped by Craigslist is a unique new comedy that explores the carnivalesque, cult-like phenomenon that is Craigslist. Combining actual postings from the Austin website with scripted material, the show tells the true stories locked inside an online community that has shaped and inspired today’s internet generation. Adapted exclusively for Shrewd Productions and the Austin stage, Kidnapped by Craigslist had a successful 2007 New York City engagement at the acclaimed People’s Improv Theater.
